In week 14 Carson Wentz went down with a gruesome knee injury and then amazingly ran 4 more plays and then walked to the locker room under is own power. He was later declared to not return to the game by the Eagles. The Eagles won the showdown 43-35 with Nick Foles at Quarterback, but they discovered that they actually had a even bigger loss.
Later after the game it was confirmed that Carson Wentz tore his ACL and will be out for the season. The first thing that came to my mind and many other minds was that the Eagles have lost their Super Bowl hopes, but then I thought about it more and I wondered can the eagles actually make the Super Bowl?
Before you start calling me crazy I need to explain. I am definitely not saying that Nick Foles is a better Quarterback than Carson Wentz. I mean Carson Wentz was a legitimate contender for MVP before the injury.
For example Nick Foles can't make plays like this

Or extend the play like this

but the question is if Nick Foles is good enough to lead the Eagles to the Super Bowl?
Through the 2 full games Nick Foles has played in he has posted a 87.1 passer rating which is not too bad for a backup Quarterback, but when we compare this to Carson Wentz's passer rating of 101.9 it doesn't seem too great. Nick Foles passer rating of 87.1 is ranked 20 out of 40 of quarterbacks who have thrown 100+ passes.
When we compare this to Carson Wentz's rank we see that his passer rating of 101.9 is ranked 4 out of 40 of eligible quarterbacks. Carson Wentz is only behind Tom Brady, Alex Smith, and Drew Brees. As we see Carson Wentz has much better stats than Nick Foles.
Although Carson Wentz stats are much better there is one more thing that has to be taken into account. The Eagles have clinched the NFC's #1 seed. This means they will have home field advantage for their playoff games which is a huge advantage to have. The Eagles have not lost a home game this season and going into the playoffs this can be the deciding factor.
Whether the Eagles make the Super Bowl or not this is going to be one of their best seasons in franchise history and they aren't going to go down without a fight.
